I’ve logged in for maybe an hour to check out the new Blood Moon content, but my current 9400GT is so horrible that it’s hard to play.  I have to play at half screen resolution and low settings, which makes everything super fuzzy.
From what I can tell, there is no easy way to find the [...]

After a month of Live and even longer in beta, the most overpowered ability is finally getting some attention.  Cryptic never should have waited so long.  TK shield is one of the major reasons for why people were breezing through the game, soloing team content and making PvP into a massive joke.  It is one [...]

I am done with Cryptic and Champions Online.  I feel like I finished and mastered the game and there is nothing left for me to do.
I stopped having fun a week ago.  The only reason why I kept playing is because I loved creating new heroes and coming up with new builds.  I enjoyed seeing [...]

It’s finally here!!  Free retcons in tonight’s patch.  The great news is that it isn’t just for head starters.  Everyone gets a free retcon, available for use at any time.
I’m going to be saving my free retcons on all my superheroes until I feel like the massive nerfs that accompany every MMORPG launch is slowing [...]

Bill Roper’s philosophy of over-nerfing powers does not work with CO’s open skill system.
In an interview with [...]

Cryptic just patched Champions Online and they significantly changed the respec’ing process (retcon’ing in CO lingo).  You can retcon everything!  No more 10 point limitations.  You can even retcon your energy builder and starter talent.  This is equivalent to changing your class if you were playing a different MMORPG.
The drawback?
It costs a lot of resources.  [...]

It’s great finally leveling up and knowing that I’m not completely wasting my time on a character that’s going to be wiped.  The head start launch went as smoothly as could be expected. The servers were up about 20 minutes before the official start time.  It was an unexpected, but welcome, change especially considering many [...]

Even though I’ve been enjoying my time with Champions Online, that doesn’t mean it doesn’t have some major problems.  Many of the problems are because CO is a brand new game.  Hopefully some of these problems will be fixed by launch.  Unfortunately, CO has some core problems that might be more difficult to manage.
This is [...]

This is a much longer post that I planned to write, so here is the TL;DR version:
I’m having a lot of fun!  Customization is top notch.  The open skill system is fantastic.  Combat is dynamic and exciting.  I’m definitely going to be subscribing to this game.  I’m eagerly awaiting the early start on August 28th.  [...]
