Funcom has finally put vendors with PvP equipment on the Test servers. Here is the thread in the Test Live forums discussing the new addition.
At first glance, all I can say is boring. All the stats look rather generic…kinda like your typical green loot armor, but with some better values. No special abilities or mods. I’ve only seen stats for PvP level 5 and lower gear. Perhaps higher level gear will be more ’special.’
At second glance, it looks like Funcom is trying to reduce PvP damage even further. All of the sets have a good amount of % invulnerabilities…about 15% invulnerabilities to all damage. Combined with all the other damage reductions for PvP and the massive gem nerf, PvP is definitely going to be quite different when all of this comes to the Live servers.
Here are screenshots of the tooltips for all the level 80 armor and weapons. There are lower level PvP equipment as well, but I didn’t take the time to screenshot those. Unfortunately, it might be a while before we see screenshots of characters actually wearing these pieces due to PvP level requirements and cost.
PvP level 1 – jewelry, cape
PvP level 2 – belt, shoulder, feet
PvP level 3 – wrist, hands
PvP level 4 – chest, legs
PvP level 5 – head
I’ve not done PvP at 80, but avoiding getting 1-shot all the time sounds like more fun to me. So we’ll see!
Also, I really hope this gear gives a needed injection of variety in looks. I am a big fan of the realistic-looking armor and weapons the current style offers. But a little more variety, to give us a sense of movement and change — and to give us RPers something to dress up in
@Yasmina From what I’ve seen, the PvP armor does look different from any of our other choices. So that is a good thing. But the chest and leg pieces are PvP level 4, so I wonder just how much killing we have to do to get that far.
There are 10 PvP level, so I guess PvP level 4 won’t take too long.
It’s just the blue PvP Set, I believe PvP level 6-10 will offer epic PvP stuff.
So only lvl 80’s can use this stuff?
If so thats a terrible game mechanic.

There might be PvP level 4 and 5 people on the Test server, but I haven’t seen them.
You get boosted to level 80, and PvP level 3. You also get some gold. But getting to PvP level 4 and 5 actually takes some time.
I’m not sure that many people are willing to put in the time and effort to gank countless people to buy the PvP equipment on Test.
The PVP-patch will be great !

Personally, I believe that the PvP armour looks just fine; and I further believe that the statistics are in line with low PvP gear. It sure beats having to craft hundreds of pieces of armour in order to make the stuff; not to mention the gems needed or the gem re-equip required between zones. As the game is right now, there is little to work toward after level 80 and although this PvP system may seem underdone, I think it will at least add some flavor to an otherwise mundane experience.
We are going to find, however, that the most significant outcome of the PvP point/gear system is going to be a massive (and I mean MASSIVE!) increase in rez-camping.

No that will most probably not happen. You only get pvp point the 5 first times you kill someone. And it decreases at the rate 100/80/60/40/20/0/0 so no reson to gank. This resets at 00:00 every day.
I fear the rez camping will happen as well. On test, you get rez camped to heck, no matter how many times you got killed already. You really think the rez campers sit there and keep track? No. Rez campers get enough enjoyment from camping people, xp or no xp.
This game is just getting better and better.

This in addition to the fantastic siegewar batles makes this the game of all times.
For all of you that compare AoC to WoW has to remember all the bugs in WoW the 1st year…
AoC has only been online a couple of months.
Give it a couple more and you will see.
hi, can u please tell me how much any one of those peices cost, i jsut want to get a ball park of whether each peice will cost like the horse 50g -_- x( , or more like 1g each, thx a ton
@bear Sorry, but I don’t think the prices on the Test server are valid. They are probably really low to ensure that people can buy (and test) the pieces without having to farm for hours. So it’s hard to say right now whether they will be cheap or stupid expensive.
